Above-ground breakaway hydrants are utilized for water supply in firefighting systems, within clean water networks with a maximum operating temperature of 40 °C, a maximum pressure of 16 bar, and a frost depth of 1.25 m. They are primarily installed in exposed areas because, in the event of an accident, the hydrant practically yields at the flange area and self-closes, preventing water from gushing under pressure into alleys or roadways. Reference Standards: EN 14384 Above-ground fire hydrants; EN 1074-6 Valves for water supply. Performance requirements and appropriate verification tests. Part 6: Hydrants; EN 1092-2 Flanges and their joints. Circular flanges for pipes, valves, fittings and accessories, designated by PN. Part 2: Cast iron flanges. The DN80 hydrant features 2 type B connections (3). Epoxy paint protection 250-360 µm. The total height of the hydrant is 2150 mm. It is equipped with an automatic drainage device after the complete closing of the hydrant.
