Polyethylene pipes are intended for conveying pressurized drinking water, with a maximum nominal pressure of 6 bar (design factor C=1.25, fluid temperature 20°C). They are installed buried in the ground, using the conventional method, in an open trench with sand bedding.
The pipes are mechanically joined using VALWater compression fittings. Given the wall thickness, the pipes cannot be installed using electrofusion fittings or butt welding.
