Polyethylene pipes are designed for transporting drinking water under pressure, with a maximum nominal pressure of 6 bar (design coefficient C=1.25, fluid temperature 20°C). They are installed underground using the conventional method, in an open trench with sand bedding.
The pipes are mechanically joined using VALWater compression fittings. Given the wall thickness, the pipes cannot be installed with electrofusion or butt welding.
