The elbows are made from high-density polyethylene compound, PE100 type, black in color. PE100 compound is a homogeneous blend of polyethylene, antioxidants, pigments, and UV stabilizers. The PE100 raw material complies with SR ISO 4427-1 and SR EN 12201-1 standards. Manufacturing The elbows are obtained from welded segments. Reference standard SR EN 12201-3: Plastics piping systems for water supply, service lines and pressure drainage systems – polyethylene (PE). Part 3 Fittings. Use in drinking water supply networks with operating pressure PN 10 bar, installed buried in the ground. Service life is 50 years, corresponding to an operating temperature of 20°C and a working pressure equal to or less than the PN for which the fitting was manufactured. Joining method – by butt fusion welding with fittings/pipes with the same SDR. – by electrofusion. Approvals Technical approval and agreement for use in construction in Romania. Sanitary approval for use with drinking water, issued by INSP Bucharest.

PE SDR 17 elbows, manufactured by welding segments of PE100 SDR 17 pipe, are used for building pressurized water supply networks (including drinking water) with a maximum pressure of PN10 bar (calculated for a temperature of 20°C).
