Anti-burst above-ground hydrants are used for water supply in firefighting, in clean water networks with a maximum operating temperature of 40 °C, maximum pressure of 16 bar, and a frost depth of 1.25 m.
They are installed especially in exposed areas because, in the event of an accident, the hydrant practically yields from the flange area and self-closes, preventing water from gushing under pressure into alleys or roadways.
