Reducing tees are made from high-density polyethylene compound, PE100 type, black in color. PE100 compound is a homogeneous blend of polyethylene, antioxidants, pigments, and UV stabilizers. The PE100 raw material complies with SR ISO 4427-1 and SR EN 12201-1. Manufacturing: Reducing tees consist of a segmented tee to which one or more reducers have been welded. Reference standard: SR EN 12201-3: Plastics piping systems for water supply, service connections and pressure drainage and sewerage systems — Polyethylene (PE). Part 3: Fittings. Use in drinking water supply networks with an operating pressure of PN 8 bar, installed buried in the ground. Service life is 50 years, corresponding to a use temperature of 20°C and a working pressure equal to or lower than the PN for which the fitting was manufactured. Joining method – by butt fusion welding with fittings/pipes of the same SDR. – by electrofusion. Approvals: Technical approval and agreement for use in constructions in Romania. Sanitary approval for use with potable water, issued by INSP Bucharest.
