For cold and hot water sanitary installations, as well as heating installations, as follows: – Class 1 (hot water 60°C) – design temperature related to service life: 60°C/49 years + 80°C/1 year + 95°C/100 hours. – Class 2 (hot water 70°C) – design temperature related to service life: 70°C/49 years + 80°C/1 year + 95°C/100 hours. – Class 5 (radiator heating) – design temperature related to service life: 80°C/10 years + 60°C/25 years + 20°C/14 years + 90°C/1 year + 100°C/100 hours.
VALDuotherm GRAY PPR/FIBER PIPE D. 63×8.6 mm SDR 7.4 L 4 m
VALDuotherm PP-R/PP-R+GF/PP-R SDR 7.4 pipe is used for indoor installations for cold water supply, hot water supply, and heating, as follows:
- Class 1 - hot water 60°C – PN 8 bar; design temperature related to service life: 60°C/49 years + 80°C/1 year + 95°C/100 hours;
- Class 2 (hot water 70°C) - PN 6 bar; design temperature related to service life: 70°C/49 years + 80°C/1 year + 95°C/100 hours;
- Class 5 (heating installations including high-temperature radiators) - PN 6 bar; design temperature related to service life: 20°C/14 years + 60°C/25 years + 80°C/10 years + 90°C/1 year + 100°C/100 hours;
- cold water PN 16 bar at c = 1.5 and PN 20 bar at c = 1.25 (Informative - In accordance with SR EN ISO 21003-1 - the design pressure for sanitary cold water installations for a period of 50 years at a temperature of 20°C is 10 bar).
Reference standard: SR EN ISO 21003-2 - Multilayer piping systems for hot and cold water installations inside buildings, Part 2: Pipes
The linear expansion coefficient of PP-R/PP-R+GF/PP-R pipes is α = 0.045 mm/m K, which is why, before wall mounting (surface mounting) PP-R/PP-R+GF/PP-R pipes, the effect of pipe expansion or contraction must be assessed. Correct installation of clamps or other types of supports and correct positioning of expansion compensators prevents uncontrolled pipe movement due to temperature variations during installation and operation. As a rule, installation expansion is compensated between 2 fixed points by changing direction, an expansion loop, or where this is not possible, compensators must be fixed between the pipe and the structure. The fixing clamps (also called fixed points) of the installation are positioned near branches, valves, or wall penetrations, and the sliding ones are mounted along the route at well-defined distances. This ensures installation alignment, support, and controlled axial movement. When installing PP-R fiber pipes in screed or wall, they are installed in protective tubes with a flexible structure, good insulators and capable of absorbing pipe expansion. In the case of excessive expansion that is difficult to compensate through the protective insulating tube, an expansion compensator must be calculated and installed. Attention: the pipes must be installed at an acceptable depth under the screed or inside the wall to avoid cracks; in addition, excessive internal stresses at joints must be avoided. The installation depth must be greater than or equal to 1.5 × the pipe’s outside diameter. Threaded joints are not permitted in the screed or wall. The pressure test is carried out before the pipe/installation is permanently buried.
The technical manual covers methods for evaluating expansion and ways to compensate for it, including clamp positioning.
