Black high-density polyethylene pipe, type PE100RC, with an external protective layer made of additive-enhanced polypropylene (PP). PE100 RC polyethylene (Resistant to Cracks) exhibits resistance to crack propagation under stress, compared to PE80 and PE100. The blue outer layer protects the pipe from mechanical stress, UV radiation, and prevents contamination. The dimensions of PE100RC pipes are standardized according to EN 12201-2, and the thickness of the external PP layer is added to the standard pipe thickness. Reference Standard: PAS1075 (Public Available Specification) is a technical specification published by Deutsches Institut für Normung, which includes characteristics, requirements, and testing methods for polyethylene pipes that can be installed using trenchless methods. Usage: WaterPro PE100RC pipes are used in pressurized potable water supply networks, buried underground. Trenchless installation methods: Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD): used for laying new pipelines or reconstructing old ones. This method is suitable for areas where open trenches are to be avoided (especially in urban areas where installation and traffic disruption costs are high). WaterPro PE100RC pipes with protective coating are used in cold water supply networks (including drinking water) under pressure.
Due to the increased resistance of the PE100RC material to slow crack propagation and the protective layer, the thickness of which is added to the standardized thickness of the PE100RC pipe, these pipes can also be installed by unconventional methods (e.g. guided horizontal drilling, relining, burstlining) without reducing the service life of the network.
