Polyethylene pipes are designed for the transport of drinking water under pressure, with a maximum nominal pressure of 6 bar (design coefficient C=1.25, fluid temperature 20°C). They are installed underground, using the conventional method, in an open trench with sand embedding.
The pipes are mechanically joined using VALWater compression fittings. Given the wall thickness, these pipes cannot be installed with electrofusion or butt welding.
