Water meter pits are compact, monobloc products (without joints or welds), made of polyethylene (PE), manufactured using rotomoulding technology. They are intended to protect the water meter and the service connection installation. The manufacturing conditions and general quality requirements for water meter pits are included in Valrom Industrie’s Company Technical Standard STF 9/2005. Construction version with solid wall: single-layer wall made of solid material (polyethylene coloured throughout). Thermal insulation is required when installing the pit. Components: – water meter pit body – lid insulation gasket – thermally insulated lid. Benefits: The monobloc construction, the thermally insulated lid, and the design solutions for closure and sealing of penetrations—rubber gasket at the lid and for wall penetrations—make water infiltration impossible and protect the internal installation from freezing. The reinforced geometry, with horizontal and vertical ribs, gives the pit mechanical rigidity without increasing its weight and, implicitly, handling and transport time or costs.
