GasPro pipes with stainless steel wire are used in natural gas supply networks with maximum operating pressure MOP=10 bar (reference temperature 20°C). GasPro pipes were designed to: improve handling, storage and installation conditions and reduce costs associated with these operations. The stainless steel wire allows locating the pipe position so it can be identified and avoided during excavation. The core consists of high-density polyethylene PE100 pipe for gas networks in accordance with product standards requirements and national regulations in force. On the exterior, a polypropylene (PP) layer is applied during manufacturing (coextrusion), additivated to increase scratch and penetration resistance. Polypropylene is approximately 3 times more resistant than polyethylene and any damage beyond acceptable limits is easy to observe due to the different color of the protective layer. This layer protects the pipe from mechanical stress and UV radiation, from manufacturing until the end of its service life. GasPro pipes with stainless steel wire have a 1.2 mm diameter stainless steel wire inserted under the PP protective layer to locate the pipe position, the maximum installation depth that allows pipe detection is 6 meters, measured from the bottom generatrix.
