The AquaPur tank is used for storing potable water for your home. AquaPur utilizes Valrom’s silver ion technology to prevent microflora development in the storage tank. It requires minimal maintenance and can provide safer, cleaner water for extended periods. The interaction steps are as follows: the active layer is exposed to the immersion medium at the liquid interface. Ag+ ions diffuse into the immersion medium. The concentration gradient increases, and equilibrium is established at a level of approximately 23 ppm (parts per million). The time required to reach equilibrium concentration is approximately 24-48 hours, depending on the liquid quantity and recirculation rate. Microorganisms are exposed to Ag contact. Ag ions interfere with the microorganisms’ reproduction mechanism, inhibiting their development. – Other Ag+ ions are released as they are consumed. This product is treated with silver-based biocides and has been tested in accordance with ISO 22196:2011.

Depending on the selected capacity, aquaPur® provides a buffer volume of water of 300, 500, or 750 liters. This quantity ensures consumption during periods when water supply is interrupted or reduces the number of pump starts. Sizing is done considering that, on average, one person consumes approximately 150 liters of water daily. This volume should be increased if you use water from the buffer tank for other activities (e.g., garden irrigation).
The tank is constructed as a monobloc (without joints) to ensure watertightness and reduce the risk of leakage. It is made of 3 distinct layers:
- an outer polyethylene layer for good mechanical resistance;
- an intermediate layer of expanded polyethylene, which acts to reduce condensation formation on the surface (thermal insulation);
- an inner polyethylene layer that incorporates inorganic compounds with Ag ions to block the development of microorganisms.
Silver's ability to inhibit microorganism growth has been known since antiquity, used to ensure water potability. The active agent is a mixture of inorganic Ag-based compounds embedded in the material. In the presence of water, silver ions are slowly released and inhibit microorganism growth by interfering with cellular mechanisms responsible for multiplication. Active Ag technology offers a dual effect: it inhibits microorganism development on the tank surface and maintains the potability of the stored medium. Its action extends to a very wide range of microorganisms – over 25 classes of bacteria, algae, fungi, molds, etc. Studies conducted in specialized institutes (Cantacuzino Institute, Bucharest; Hygiene Institut des Ruhrgebiets Trink und Badewasserhygiene, Gelsenkirchen, Germany; Industrial Microbiological Services LTD, Stafford, England) have shown that within the first 24 hours of contact, aquaPur® ensures a reduction of approximately 99.5% of Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Escherichia Coli, and Legionella Pneumophila cultures.
The tank is available in 3 geometries with volumes of 300, 500, and 750 liters. It is equipped at the base with preparation for attaching a drain valve.
