Water meter chambers are compact, monobloc products (without joints or welds), made of polyethylene (PE), manufactured using the technology known as rotomoulding. They are intended to protect the water meter and the service connection installation. Manufacturing conditions and general quality requirements for water meter chambers are included in Valrom Industrie’s Company Technical Standard STF 9/2005. Double-wall construction version: monolithic construction with an outer layer of compact material (mass-colored polyethylene) and an inner expanded polyethylene layer with blowing agents. Component parts: – water meter chamber body – lid insulation gasket – thermally insulated lid. Benefits: The monobloc construction, double-wall design, thermally insulated lid, and the design solutions for closure and sealing of penetrations—rubber gasket at the lid and for wall penetrations—make water infiltration impossible and protect the internal installation from freezing. The reinforced geometry, with horizontal and vertical ribs, provides the chamber with mechanical rigidity without increasing its weight and, implicitly, handling and transport time or costs.
