Polyethylene pipes are designed for the pressurized transport of potable water, with a maximum nominal pressure of 6 bar (design coefficient C=1.25, fluid temperature 20°C). They are installed underground, using the conventional open trench method with sand embedment.
The pipes are mechanically joined using VALWater compression fittings. Due to the wall thickness, these pipes cannot be installed with electrofusion or butt welding.
