This product is used in internal drainage systems for the discharge of domestic wastewater under gravity flow conditions (where the leak test is performed at a maximum of 0.5 bar), particularly for building risers where sound attenuation is desired for noise generated by water discharge from upper floors.
Reference standard: SR EN 1329-1.
The white pipes are manufactured by co-extrusion from PVC-U with mineral additives, featuring a triple-layer wall construction, and are equipped with a socket and gasket at one end.
The size range includes diameters from 50 mm to 200 mm, with lengths between 250 mm and 3000 mm.
Acoustic performance is 11 dB for a flow rate of 2 l/s. The sound-absorbing properties are certified following measurements conducted in the laboratories of the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, in accordance with EN 14366. The use of sound-absorbing clamps is recommended.
The fire behavior classification of the piping, in accordance with SR EN 13501, falls into class C – s3 – d0. The material is fire-resistant and self-extinguishing once the fire source is removed. Unlike other internal drainage materials, fireproofing is not required for PVC-U, as it is inherently fire-retardant. When passing through ceilings, we recommend using fire collars as a protective measure against flame propagation.
To reduce the noise level of internal drainage systems, the following are recommended:
• Selecting a pipe and fitting system with good sound-absorbing properties;
• Ensuring correct system design;
• Proper installation of the system using appropriate products.
