Meter pits are compact, monobloc (without joints or welds) products made of polyethylene (PE), manufactured using rotomoulding technology. They are designed to protect the water meter and the connection installation. Manufacturing conditions and general quality requirements for meter pits are included in Valrom Industrie’s Company Technical Standard STF 9/2005. Compact wall construction variant: single-layer wall made of compact material (mass-colored polyethylene). Component elements: meter pit body, lid insulation gasket, thermally insulated lid, 15 mm thick expanded polyethylene (PEE) thermal insulation sheet, and an installation of up to 2 (depending on the pit diameter) generally consisting of polyethylene pipes, compression fittings, and isolation valves. Customized installations can be created according to specific needs. Benefits: The monobloc construction, the thermally insulated lid, and the design solutions for the closure and sealing of the rubber gasket at the lid and for the wall penetrations prevent water infiltration and protect the internal installation from freezing. The reinforced geometry, with horizontal and vertical ribs, provides the pit with mechanical rigidity without increasing its weight and, consequently, handling and transport time or costs. Approved and technically certified for use in construction.
