GasPro pipes with stainless steel wire are utilized in natural gas supply networks with a maximum operating pressure (MOP) of 10 bar (reference temperature 20°C). GasPro pipes have been designed to improve handling, storage, and installation conditions, and to reduce associated costs. The stainless steel wire allows for the localization of the pipe’s position, ensuring it can be identified and avoided during excavation. The core consists of a high-density polyethylene PE100 pipe for gas networks, in accordance with applicable product standards and national regulations. Externally, a polypropylene (PP) layer, enhanced with additives to increase scratch and penetration resistance, is applied during the manufacturing phase (co-extrusion). Polypropylene is approximately 3 times more resistant than polyethylene, and any damage exceeding the permissible limit is easily observable due to the protective layer’s distinct color. This layer serves to protect the pipe from mechanical stresses and UV radiation, from the moment of manufacture until the end of its service life. GasPro pipes with stainless steel wire have a 1.2 mm diameter stainless steel wire inserted under the protective PP layer for pipe localization; the maximum laying depth that allows for pipe detection is 6 meters, measured from the invert.
